| Impact, actions & engagements remarquables | | | Avopro EPZ Ltd ia a Kenyan agri-processing enterprise located in the central highlands of Kenya with its core business being extraction and marketing of avocado oil. The company has contracted hundreds of smallholder avocado farmers who are trained and offered technical assistance to achieve organic and Fair for Life certification. The main aim of working with smallholder farmers is to convert them from subsistence to cash economy farming as a way of poverty eradication. With organic certification, the contracted farmers are able to improve the quality of their produce and access a premium market where they fetch more for their produce. Community projects are not realistic since the farmers are scattered across a large region; they are therefore paid the Fair-Trade Development Fund directly as an additional income. The company has developed an ICS. | ||||
