Impact, special achievements & commitments | The company has achieved change of the working system in the region by improving the trade and the working conditions for the harvesters of mate tea. In general the harvesters have worked for prices below the minimum, a salary depending on the quantity of the harvested volume, sleeping in establishments with precarious conditions and having inadequate and dangerous transport. The work of Guayaki achieved a change of paradigm, improving the harvesters’ working situation, granting them a daily wage higher than the minimum established by law, dignified working conditions and accommodation. Guayaki has worked with other small producers of yerba mate to whom they have offered a higher price than established by law, which permits them to improve their quality of life. Through the FFL premium, harvesters were able to provide one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods, where most of the population work from the yerba mate, with a health care center. | |||||||
