Impact, special achievements & commitments | Weltevrede farm was originally part of the first farm in the Paardeberg area, namely Staart van de Paardeberg which was established in 1707. It is near the towns of Paarl and Wellington in the Western Cape region of South Africa. Weltevrede farm is a family trust owned farm, which is currently being managed by Mr. Willie Mostert for his on site farming activites. Mr. Willie Mostert is the 5th generation of the Mostert family farming on Weltevrede. The farm is ± 354 hectres. At Weltevrede they have 23 permanent employed workers. The farm was originally established as a halfway station between Cape Town (the Castle of Good Hope) and theTulbagh in land area. It was the only en route source of perennial drinking water from a natural mountain spring for human and animal consumption. The water of this natural spring has been used by mankind since pre-historic times as artefacts dating from that period are regurlarly found on the farm. | |||||||
